Graduation Ceremony Requirements with payment

Conditions and Important Notes:
Please read the information below carefully and update all required fields before submitting.

1. Complete and submit this form by the closing date: 13 March 2026

2. Login to MyOP and check your details.

If your postal address or phone number has changed, please update your records in your MyOP learner portal, and on this form. We send your Graduation Pack and guest tickets to your postal address.

If your legal name has changed, please provide a verified copy of an official documentation with your correct legal name to verifications@openpolytechnic.ac.nz before 28 February 2026.

3. Guests.
You may bring up to 8 guests. If you would additionally guests, indicate this on the form and we will advise you by email if we can accommodate your request after the closing date and we have finalised numbers.

4. Academic Regalia.
Your academic regalia is arranged by Open Polytechnic. Before filling the form, take your measurements in centimetres (cm). Please provide whole number, and no decimal places.

• Gown - measure your height (e.g. 170cm).
If you require an extra-large gown, please note this in the 'Height’ box by adding your height and XL (e.g. 170cm XL).

• Trencher (Mortar Board) – measure your head circumference if your qualification award requires a trencher.

Head circumference measurements are typically between 52cm and 63cm. Please measure carefully.

It is compulsory to wear the correct academic regalia appropriate to your qualification which is arranged for you by Open Polytechnic.
You are encouraged to wear culturally appropriate adornment, such as korowai or garlands, over your gown if you wish.

5. Payment is required.
To process your application and send your graduation pack, payment must be received. When you submit the form, you will be taken to the payment details page.

6. Refunds will be provided if an event causes the cancellation of the ceremony.

Degree: Gown, Hood and Trencher (Mortar Board) - hire fee $75.00. If you are receiving a Diploma at the same time, no other fee applies.

Graduate Diploma: Gown, Sash and Trencher (Mortar Board) - hire fee $60.00.

Diploma: Gown and Sash - hire fee $50.00. Or

Diploma with previously awarded undergraduate degree*: Gown, Sash and Trencher (Mortar Board) - hire fee $60.00.

*If you are receiving a Diploma, and choose to wear a trencher to acknowledge your degree, you must provide the details of your Degree qualification below.
