NZ Certificate in Animal Care Verifier Form

Thank you for agreeing to be a workplace verifier on behalf of the NZ Certificate in Animal Care applicant.

 

The Open Polytechnic requires the details of the applicant's verifier for the applicant to progress.

The verifier is someone who can verify that all workplace assessment is an accurate account of what has been completed in the workplace and who can say that all practical work meets the requirements of the workplace. It could be a manager, or a supervisor.

 

The student’s enrolment cannot be completed until this verification form has been returned.

Verifier obligations

Students are required to have a suitable workplace verifier who has a recognised Animal Care qualification at Level 4 or above or has had experience in a wide range of animal care roles, providing care for animals within welfare standards and practices. 

General information on the role of a verifier

The workplace verifier should be someone who can verify that all workplace assessment is an accurate account of what has been completed in the workplace and who can say that all practical work meets the requirements of the workplace. It could be a manager, or a supervisor.
Note: Workplace verifiers are not required to provide training nor are they required to carry out workplace assessments. Teaching and assessment is the responsibility of Open Polytechnic. The Open Polytechnic will contact the verifier if there are any questions or concerns about the work of a student.
