Workplace Facilitator obligations

I agree to the following:

Provide opportunities for workplace experience for the student in order that s/he can complete the assessments in the programme.

If required by the workplace, ask the student for a copy of their Criminal Convictions History

Clearly communicate the workplace’s policies, procedures and practices and other reasonable directions to ensure safe practice

Ensure verification and/or supervision is provided for the student completing programme components where there is a verification and /or workplace supervision requirement.

Verifier obligations

Students are required to have a suitable workplace verifier who has a recognised Animal Care qualification at Level 4 or above or has had experience in a wide range of animal care roles, providing care for animals within welfare standards and practices.

General information on the role of a verifier

The workplace verifier should be someone who can verify that all workplace assessment is an accurate account of what has been completed in the workplace and who can say that all practical work meets the requirements of the workplace. It could be a manager, or a supervisor.
Note: Workplace verifiers are not required to provide training nor are they required to carry out workplace assessments. Teaching and assessment is the responsibility of Open Polytechnic. The Open Polytechnic will contact the verifier if there are any questions or concerns about the work of a student.
