About the Study Award

Applications will open on 10 May for Pasifika Study Awards.

The Pasifika Study Awards are aimed at supporting Pasifika learners who are close to completing their Open Polytechnic qualification.

The Open Polytechnic recognises the time, money and commitment required to study and offers a contribution of financial support for the successful applicants.

Through offering this award, the Open Polytechnic acknowledges the value of the future academic achievements and contributions that these recipients will make both to the recipients' families and their wider community.

The value of each award is made at the discretion of the panel and is dependent upon the availability of funds and the financial needs of particular applicants.

Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be of Pacific Island heritage.
  • Be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents living in New Zealand
  • Be enrolled in an Open Polytechnic programme at Level 5 or above
  • Completed at least 120 credits in the qualification they are currently enrolled in at Open Polytechnic.

Fill in and submit the online form below before the closing date.

  • Your application will be assessed on the information provided in your application form and your academic history. If you have failed previously yet have shown improvement and success in subsequent courses, you can also be considered.  You may be contacted for further information.

Applications close 5:00pm Thursday 29 August, 2024.

The Terms and Conditions of the Pasifika Study Awards are:

  1. Applicants must be of Pacific Island heritage and a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand living in New Zealand.
  2. By submitting this application, you give consent for the Open Polytechnic to contact the referee details provided.
  3. Applications will only be considered where the Pasifika Study Awards application form is fully completed. Information relating to the Pasifika Study Awards application will be kept confidential.
  4. If information provided in your application is found to be false, the Pasifika Study Awards committee will not consider it.
  5. Recipients of the Pasifika Study Awards are not eligible for any other special offers from Open Polytechnic in the same year of application.
